Product Management
This guide explains how to manage your store’s products and inventory using Spicerack’s store management tools.
Product Management Overview
Spicerack offers comprehensive tools for game stores to manage their product inventory, including:
- Creating and updating product listings
- Tracking inventory levels
- Managing product categories
- Setting pricing and discounts
- Generating reports and analytics
Setting Up Your Product Catalog
Adding Individual Products
- Navigate to Store > Products in your dashboard
- Click Add Product
- Fill in the product details:
- Product name
- Description
- SKU/UPC
- Base price
- Cost (optional)
- Category
- Brand/Publisher
- Upload product images
- Set inventory quantity
- Click Save Product
Bulk Product Import
For adding multiple products at once:
- Go to Store > Products > Import
- Download the template CSV file
- Fill in your product information
- Upload the completed CSV
- Review and confirm the import
- Address any errors or warnings
Organizing Your Product Catalog
Creating Product Categories
Organize your inventory with categories:
- Navigate to Store > Categories
- Click Add Category
- Enter category name and description
- Set parent category (if applicable)
- Upload category image (optional)
- Save the category
Tagging Products
Use tags for flexible organization:
- Select a product from your inventory
- Scroll to the Tags section
- Add relevant tags (e.g., “New Release,” “Sale,” “Tournament Legal”)
- Save changes
Inventory Management
Updating Stock Levels
- Go to Store > Inventory
- Find the product to update
- Enter the new quantity
- Save changes
For bulk updates:
- Select multiple products
- Click Bulk Update
- Choose update type (add, subtract, set value)
- Enter quantity
- Apply changes
Setting Low Stock Alerts
- Navigate to Store > Settings > Inventory Alerts
- Enable low stock notifications
- Set global or product-specific thresholds
- Configure alert recipients
- Save settings
Receiving Inventory
Record new inventory arrivals:
- Go to Store > Inventory > Receive
- Select supplier (optional)
- Enter purchase order number (optional)
- Add products and quantities received
- Adjust cost if needed
- Submit the receipt
Pricing Management
Setting Regular Prices
- Select a product from your inventory
- Update the Regular Price field
- Save changes
Creating Sales and Discounts
- Navigate to Store > Promotions
- Click Add Promotion
- Configure promotion details:
- Promotion name
- Discount type (percentage, fixed amount)
- Discount value
- Applicable products or categories
- Start and end dates
- Save and activate the promotion
Product Visibility
Control which products are visible to customers:
- Select a product
- Set the Visibility option:
- Public (visible to everyone)
- Hidden (not displayed in store)
- Limited (visible only to specific customer groups)
- Save changes
Inventory Analysis
Generate insights about your inventory:
- Go to Store > Reports > Inventory
- View available reports:
- Inventory valuation
- Low stock items
- Non-moving inventory
- Best sellers
- Profit margin analysis
- Filter reports by date range, category, or other criteria
- Export reports for further analysis
Variant Products
Manage products with multiple variations:
- Create a base product
- Click Add Variants
- Configure variant options (e.g., color, edition, condition)
- Generate combinations
- Set pricing and inventory for each variant
- Save changes
Product Bundles
Create bundles of related products:
- Go to Store > Products > Add Bundle
- Name your bundle
- Select products to include
- Set bundle pricing (discounted from component prices)
- Configure inventory tracking method
- Save the bundle
